It's done

We had a busy July 4th, Rick and I went out for breakfast, then to buy fireworks for the grand kids. We watched 2 movies then went to watch the grand kids swim at my brothers. When we got home we took a nap. Watch some TV and weather, I was sure glad to get the rain. The kids still got to set off the fireworks. I finally finished my jacket I have been working on it all week, and I love it. Here are some pictures.

Something new

Today I did something new. I have always wanted to learn to tat (lace making). I went to the Chisholm Trail museum in Kingfisher OK. where a group meets the 3rd Saturday of each month from 1-4. The ladies that were there today were more than happy to teach me how to tat. I made a small butterfly pin. I had a great time and best of all it was FREE! There is a lace guild that meets at Rose State in MWC on the 2ND Sunday of the month from 1-4.

My little darlings

Today I found out that my grandson James who is in kindergarten is receiving the best reader award for his age group in Grady county. There will be a ceremony at the Chickasha high school this month. My grandson Gerald who is in pre-k is receiving the best student award. I am so proud for my grand kids. Tonight I am keeping my grand-daughter while the boys get a special dinner for being good students. So when she is here there is no sewing instead we play make-up and wii. Yesterday we had an all day sew at the church. We had 16 members attend. I taught the stack n whack fan quilt. One of my best friends helped me with the class. All the fans turned out beautiful.

I have also been working on a new stack n whack, and new fabric for another stack n whack. Oh did I mention that I love, love, love to make stack n whack quilts. I am waiting for the mail I ordered a new stack n whack book on Amazon. My fabric is ready to be quilted (by me) for the jacket class on the 3rd Saturday sewing day. My daughter called me on Friday and ask me to make a baby girl quilt for a shower, of course I already had baby boys quilts. So I made 3 small baby quilts on Saturday. Saturday evening my washer machine went out. So I had to spend hours at a laundromat. Here are some pictures.
